The story of Jel-Cap Vending began in the 1963 when Herbert Caplan opened the original “Caplan’s Deli”. His three sons, Larry, Jerry, and Elliot joined into the restaurant business in the early 70s, which expanded to several locations throughout the Baltimore area. As the three brothers continued to develop the business, they first began implementing vending machines to a neighboring company in the late 80s. As Jel-Cap Vending began to grow, they decided it was time to expand and in 1989, they moved into a 6,600 square foot warehouse to manage day-to-day operations. They maintained ownership of the Deli business until the early 2000s when they decided it was time to dedicate themselves solely to vending and foodservice.
Today, Jel-Cap Vending operates out of a 12,000 square foot facility, servicing more than 1500 snack, beverage, coffee, and ready-made food machines in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area. They are currently growing the business through micro markets and smart technology and will continue to deliver high quality service for your business to enjoy for generations to come.
